Wok Care and Use

  1. Seasoning Your Wok (Before First Use):

    • Wash the wok with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge.
    • Rinse thoroughly and dry.
    • Heat the wok over medium heat until hot, then add a thin layer of oil.
    • Swirl the oil to coat the entire inside surface.
    • Let the oil cool and wipe out any excess. This process helps create a non-stick surface.
  2. Cleaning Your Wok (After Use):

    • Rinse the wok with hot water and gently scrub with a soft sponge or brush.
    • Avoid using soap or harsh abrasives, as they can strip the seasoning.
    • Dry the wok immediately after cleaning to prevent rust.
  3. Re-seasoning as Needed:

    • If food starts to stick or the seasoning appears uneven, repeat the seasoning process.
    • Regular seasoning helps maintain a smooth, non-stick surface.
  4. Long-term Maintenance:

    • Store the wok in a dry place and lightly coat it with oil before storage to prevent rust.
    • For rust removal, scrub the affected area with steel wool, rinse, and re-season.
